MOST WANTED : BEHIND THE HYPE

Well, unless you haven't been following us through our twitter, facebook, or the original Kidrobot thread (shame on you btw), then you know that our very first official Most Wanted show is just under two weeks away! Besides all the insane amounts of excitement all of us here at MW are feeling, we're working our asses off to make sure this show is something you soon won't forget! For you lucky fans in the Bay area, and for those of you who are actually flying down (you guys are f@#$ing amazing!) for opening night, we hope to see you guys there bright and early. Just kidding, the show isn't till 6:30pm so please don't show up at 6:30am, I'd feel like a major "A Hole" if you did. So until then, checkout the press release from 1AM gallery and prepare yourselves for one hell-of-a show!

"1AM, with curators Manny Rivas and James Brown, are proud to present “Most Wanted: Behind the Hype”,  a toy vinyl show featuring the best customizers in the game.  More than 25 artists were given Kidrobot platforms to showcase their creativity and skills.  Without any specific theme to address, everyone is pushing the boundaries of their own unique style.  The opening reception is on Friday, May 11^th, 2012 from 6:30 to 9:30pm and will run through June 10^th, 2012.

“The Most Wanted” (MW) is an artist collective that started in 2009 and created by Tim Munz, Igor Ventura, and Manny Rivas.  It is a custom Dunny series that pays homage to Kidrobot and their classic blind box series.  Bringing together a huge collective of talent from across the globe, MW1 and its’ predecessor, MW2, were instant successes with both series selling out in a matter of seconds.  Despite the continuing success of the collection, the founders’ goal remains the same: find and showcase the most competent up-and-comers in the scene and spread their talent across the globe.  One of the best ways to do that is to exhibit the incredible works at art galleries.

The “Most Wanted: Behind The Hype” show has no particular theme to limit the artists’ imagination.  Manny and James wanted everyone to bring their own distinctive styles to the table and present them on the most popular platforms out there, KidRobot’s Munnys and Dunnys. The focus of this exhibit is to display the true talent and passion that lies behind the hype.  What is the hype? Join us at the opening reception on Friday, May 11^th and find out!"

"BREAKFAST AT MAGGY'S"

For those of you following the "all CATS" Charity Custom Dunny Series (put together by Tim Munz in participation with 5 other amazing artists), half of the limited edition prints will be up for sale today over at our shop at 12 noon PST! And for those of  you who haven't been following the series, well, here's your chance to get acquainted and help support a good cause by scoring some dope PAUSE (see what I did just there?!?). All proceeds will go towards helping Maggy (a once stray kitty who has found a good home with Tim and his girlfriend) in her recovery. Plus, for every print you buy you'll be entered to win a free blind box from the series, or a super limited laser engraved version of the "Breakfast at Maggy's" print on wood! The wood print is absolutely beautiful and is not for sale, so this is your only chance for scoring one! And at only $12 bux a pop, it's a win win situation ;)

PANDAS AND CHAINSAWS. . .UM, YEA. . .

PAUSE! is at it again. This time they have taken their Chainsaw Panda character off paper and brought it into the 3D world by using an 8" Dunny as their canvas! Now I usually don't like to throw the words, "@#$!%& awesome!" around, but this is in fact, @#$*%^! awesome! And if you're wondering if this violent little bastard is available for sale, the answer is no (sorry!). This was made for a private collector and shall be making it's way across the Atlantic very soon. WATCH OUT FOR THAT BIG PILE OF YETI SH. . .

Tearing up campsites, crapping in your bird feeder, and knocking down your snowmen, this angry Yeti is far from friendly, but what a magnificent bastard he is! Originally this was an 8" Dunny (yea, I know, right), but he can get away with passing off as an OG sclupt. PAUSE has definitely killed it (or should I say, brought to life) with yet another dope custom from their design studios all the way in Canada (ey?) ;]  And if you're thinking, "Ok, I need this, where's the bloody purchase link?!?", well, I hate to be the guy to ruin your day but this little fella was a commission for a private collector. Stings just a little bit don't it? But if you stick around you'll have a shot at scoring one of their pieces through MW3, and I gotta say, it's going to be one hell-of-a design! Or you may be able to squeeze on to their commission list (no promises), just hit up their link and you'll be able to find some contact info. PAW DUNNY. PAIN EDITION. NEED I SAY MORE?

So nearly a year later, and after hours of non stop work, Chauskoskis has finally finished his first edition of custom 3" PAW Dunnys (cleverly titled Pawnny) in the seriously ill "Pain" edition! In my opinion, this is the best tribute piece to Coarse that I've ever seen. And I'm sure that those of you who've followed the progress heard some of the controversy behind it, but I'm not going to get into all that noise. Instead I'm going to focus on the dopeness of these customs. Perfect sculpting, perfect proportions, perfect paint job. . .what else can I say? It's f@#!$* perfect! Keep up the great work Chaus, and congratz to you 20 or so lucky fans that got on the list for one of these little guys! You lucky, lucky bastards! ;]

Don't worry, it's not contagious, promise. After opening up our facebook page we figured we'd let you twitter heads get in on the fun too, so with that said, feel free to follow us HERE! We'll be mirroring all our major posts (and some of the not so major ones) from our facebook so if twatter is your thing, you'll be up to date on most everything. That doesn't mean that we still won't release exclusive info, teasers, and whatever else boredom dictates here on our blog. This is your main source for all things MW so don't forget that ;)  We've even added an option to follow the blog via email! That's right, just look to right of this post and you'll see what I'm talking about. All you gotta do is add your email, click submit, reply to the confirmation email, and you're good to go. FOORAKIS & TANK HAVE LANDED! MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON THOSE POOR LITTLE. . .

SOLD OUT. . .

J3 is a highly radioactive fuel that is so rare that the only supply left in the entire universe was just stolen by none other than Foorakis and his mute minion Tank. Tank was specifically engineered to handle J3 with his hands of steel and his cranial reservoir, so swiping the fuel was a cinch. However, the 2 marauders still fled the scene in a panic – carelessly refueling their ship and not screwing the cap on completely. Having easily outrun the cops, Foorakis was about to steer the ship past earth when it started to lose altitude. The 2 space pirates had no idea what was happening but they were going down and fast. They had never been to earth so they had no idea they were about to crash land in Boulder Colorado... directly into the newly completed National Dunny Archives.

Foorakis and Tank are a set and will be $250.00 usd. Packaged in their custom cruiser, never to be made again. Available tomorrow, July 1 at the Most Wanted store:

What Foorakis and Tank didn't anticipate was how the J3 would effect its surroundings... being highly radioactive. They survived the crash only to find themselves in some kind of museum... there were little, plastic rabbits everywhere...and the J3 was all over them. There's no telling how these... rabbits will react.
